Supporting Pasteur's germ theory, Robert Koch developed the Koch's four postulates which become the basic rules for studying pathogenetic microorganisms. Though the postulates have limitations, they are still influencing today's study. With the postulates, Koch was able to discover the cuase of TB disease is the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
