Description:

This was an act that lowered taxes on sugar related items and colonist who were caught smuggling would be sent to non-American jurors. The British did this so colonist wouldn't smuggle in illegal and so that they buy the items from Britain. The colonist didn't like this because they want to buy items where they want, and the colonist wrote letters directly to the British Parliament saying "not taxation without representation. This was the first time colonist protested against an act.
