The Incan empire was suffering from a civil war and an epidemic of disease at the time, and were defeated by Piazarro. Like Cortes, Pizarro benefited from alliances with other local tribes, better weapons and the spread of diseases that decreased the strength of the Incas. Spain profited massively off the wealth of the empire in terms of precious metals, and the Incan capital Cuzco is where modern day Lima (Peru) is located.Added to timeline:
