First marketable magnetic tape, developed by RCA, Motorola, Ford, GM, and more. 4 different sets with two stereo channels for 8 tracks. 4 eleven minute chunks. Unrewindable. Songs aren’t individually selectable. Album order could be messed up or songs split. In the Ford Mustang a cassette player is announced as the new luxury. First karaoke machine plays 8-tracks. Eight tracks never show up in europe because they were pushed almost exclusively by American companies.
