mar 24, 1734 - 1. Jack Broughton from England became the worlds 2nd heavyweight boxing champion. Jack also created more rules to remove some of the more gorier parts of the sport such as disqualifying a fighter if he hit below the belt, quarreled, cursed or attacked with their legs or head. Fights lasted until one fighter was knocked onto the ground if they were unable to stand up within 8 seconds they would lose if a fighter was unable to continue fighting after their 30-second break they would lose.
