dec 31, 401 BC - Democritus
Description:
50 years later a ancient Greek philosopher named Democritus constructed a new theory that matter was made of tiny particles that
could not be broken down further . He called these particles “atomos,” which means indivisible. The reason he believed this is because he did an experiment where he took a stone and split it in half and noticed it still had the same properties no matter how much he smashed it so that showed that particles are indestructible. His theories were correct.
