Description:

Alexander Fleming discovered the first antibiotic. He found that a common type of mould, could kill germs. He would use this mould very carefully to make a special type of medicine, called penicillin.

This medicine was used in World War 2 for the soilders who got hurt. This was done so that they could not get any infections.
