mar 26, 1953 - Salk Creates his (IPV) Polio Vaccine

Description:

IPV or Inactive Polio Vaccine is created by Jonas Salk. It uses a dead polio virus and has the benefits of not being alive so it can't cause polio and tending to show impressive results in creating protection in the immune system. Unfortunately it isn't as effective in the gut which is where the virus would start with being spread by feces to oral ingestion. It's also more expensive than the other vaccine created.
