Description:
In 1861 Morris founded the Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. The company was based on artistic design and craft production (Morris created the concept of "arts and crafts"). One objective of his company was to lower the artistic production to make it available to workers and not just an economic elite. The Morris & Co. produced furniture, decorative items, lace, jewelry, stained glass, carpets and tapestries. In 1866 the company began to produce profits and distribute them among the workers following the socialist principles of its owner.
