This was a defeat against Napoleon because after growing confident goes to battle with the British, thinking that there are no other reinforcements to help them. Little did he know, the Prussian forces charged on to the battlefield and defeated his forces. This would lead to Napoleon abdicating the throne and him being exiled to St. Helena
