In 1859 the chair No. 14, known as Kaffeehausstuhl Nr. 14, came out, the coffee chair, still today as the chair of chairs. In it reduce the number of elements to 6 pieces of wood, 4 tips, 2 screws and 2 nuts and solves the back support by the curvature of a single wooden bar. It won him a gold medal at the Paris fair of 1867, with a production of more than 50 million units until 1930, conquered markets around the world.
The chair nº 14 meant a change of mentality in the production of furniture. Very simple techniques, made with very few parts, cheap manufacturing results, economic at the point of sale, easy to transport in large quantities and, in addition, very resistant.
