Arthur leaves Chatham on May 25th 1915 for Southampton, leaving England later that day for France. The ship was the RMS Connaught, a steam-powered mail ship , commandeered in 1915 by the British War Office and pressed into service as a troop carrier. She served for two years before being sunk in 1917 by German submarine U-48, with the loss of three crew.
