Description:

Rubella Virus was isolated by Tomas Weller in 1970. He was driven to find the vaccine to this virus because his 10 year old son was infected. Today currently the Rubella vaccine is now encouroporated in the MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) vaccine. It is important to get vaccinated because these diseases are still very common in many parts of the world. Childeren should get 2 doses of the MMR vaccine. The first dose should be given 12-15 months of age and the second dose should be given 4-6 years of age.
