jan 1, 350 BC - Aristotle

Description:

50 years later Democritus died and Aristotle came into the picture. Aristotle was a well known for his findings in mathematics and philosophy. Aristotle and his associate Socrates turned down the "atomic" model and took up the "four element" model. They turned down the atomic model because it suggested atoms floated in empty spaces and they did not believe empty spaces existed. Since Aristotle was such an influence everyone believed his theory for 2000 years even though he had very little evidence. Aristotle's theory that empty spaces don't exist is now known as incorrect because we know that atoms do float in empty spaces.
