jan 9, 1955 - Salk's injected polio vaccine introduced
Description:
It produces protective antibodies in the blood and it prevents the spread of the poliovirus to the central nervous system and induces only very low levels of immunity to the poliovirus. It isn't a live vaccine so there is no risk of vaccine-associated polio paralysis but it costs 5 times than the other vaccine.
