jan 1, 991 - Guido D'Arezzo
Description:
He was an Italian benedictian monk and a music theorist of the Medieval era. He is regarded as the inventor of modern musical notation (staff notation) that replaced neumatic notation. Also he invented a system which could contein the precise pitch (ut, re, mi, fa, sol, la). Those names came from the begining of every hemistich of the hymn to Saint Joannes (Ut queant laxis)
