oct 6, 2006 - Clause 56.07 takes effect

Description:

Clause 56.07 of the Victorian planning provisions make it a requirement that new developments account for and adequately manage site runoff and stormwater quality during construction and the life of the development.

The initiative provides ‘sustainable water management requirements’ that aim to:

• integrate use of all water resources including rainwater,
reused water, recycled water and stormwater;
• conserve the supply and reduce the use of potable water;
• use alternative water supplies where potable water quality is not required, and
• use best practice water sensitive design techniques to conserve, reuse and recycle water and manage the quality of stormwater run-off4.
