DVD - Digital Versatile Disks came about in 1997.
Sony Multimedia Compact Disks VS. Toshiba Super Density Disk - in the end, the compromise was the DVD as they had a larger storage capacity.
The first DVD player was £800, and the first DVD released in the U.K was 'Twister' in 1997, and cost £22. Today, DVD's cost, on average, £10
