nov 7, 1811 - Battle of Tippecanoe

Description:

While Tecumseh left his headquarters at Prophetstown to travel down the Mississippi and visit the tribes of the South, William Henry Harrison camped near the town with 1,000 soldiers. On this day, he provoked a battle in which Harrison drove off the Indians and burned down Prophetstown. To the Prophet's followers, this battle proved as a tool of disillusionment as many of them believed that his magic would protect them.
