On October 27, 2004, the world's first online banner ad appeared on the internet. AT&T started up the YOU WILL campaign of advertisements on the internet, and it was a huge success because almost half of the people who saw it, clicked on it. Because of that one ad, we now see advertisements on websites commonly.
