jun 30, 550 BC - Perisan Empire (550-330 B.C.E.)

Description:

The Persian empire is well known across the planet for their robustness and conquering abilities. They were capable of this because of their rulers, primarily Cyrus and Darius, and their effective government. They kept their empire in line by using satraps, or local rulers. They also created an efficient system of taxes, coins, and laws, which all made the government run smoother. The Persian empire fell because of the death of Darius, which was closely followed by the corruption of the majority of the different satraps. (2.2)
