It was the war that started the American War of Independence. An army of British soldiers marched down to Concord in search of arms being stockpiled there. Colonists from Boston warned local leaders of the troops. Militiamen went to resist the British army. Battles between the American and British soldiers took place in Lexington and Concord. By the end of it, 49 Americans and 73 British soldiers were dead.
