In 2008, producers of Degrassi found out that Drake was working on music. In an interview Drake states that he would spend all day filming and then all night making music until 5am, sleep in his dressing room, and repeat the next day. This shows us that Drake was very committed to his show but his love for music was way too powerful. The producers ended up giving Drake a choice and made him choose between the show or making music. Drake of course chose music and is character with killed off the show. This is why Drake now says "I choose this life". In a recent interview Drake says he would like to eventually return to acting.
