dec 2, 1995 - Patrick Roy Leaves The Franchise

Description:

Patrick Roy and the Montreal Canadiens Made History on this date when the Canadiens were embarrassed by the Detroit Redwings by a scoreline of 11-1. Patrick Roy allowed 9 goals on 26 shots when he was finally pulled by head coach Mario Tremblay to the boo's and whistles of the angry Montreal fans. Roy thought that Tremblay purposefully kept him in goal to embarrass him so on his way to the bench he stormed off the ice and as he passed President Ronald Corey, roy told Corey this would be his last game in Montreal, and was then traded to the colorodo Avalanche where he had much success.
