mar 22, 1765 - The Stamp Act

Description:

The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament, which was about that new taxes are imposed to all American colonists. The colonists are required to pay taxes for every single printed paper they used, including ship's papers, legal documents, licenses, newspapers and other publications. It was explained in the Stamp Act that all money collected would be used to help protecting the American frontier near the Appalachian Mountains. In December, over 200 Boston merchants refused to pay Stamp Tax. In 1766 March 18, Stamp Act got repealed. The Stamp Act showed how American colonists have been treated unfairly from their mother country Britain and how people were being oppressed.
