feb 7, 1950 - New Wave

Description:

Starting in France, the New Wave was a new era in filmmaking. It was a decade where filmmakers weren't just companies with big budget films, but rather amateurs who could create their own productions on a much smaller scale. It presented us with new and exciting ways of filming and editing due to the huge release of creativity due to the lack of restrictions felt my the new filmmakers. Unorthodx methods such as shaky camera shots or quick cuts in the film would be seen consistently, but viewed much more positviely than before. They addressed political issues such as interracial reltionships, sex before marriage and teen pregnancies.
The impirtance of this era is vast i that it set up filmmaking as a new artform for decades to come. It would inspire many creators such as Taratino and have a long lasting impact on the industry.
