apr 14, 1975 - Steadicam Invented
Description:
Invented by Garret Brown, the Steadicam was a piece of equipment that bore resemblance to a harness except it would have an attachment for a camera on the front that would enable filmmakers to capture shots whilst moving but also whilst keeping the camera completely steady (as the name suggests).
The importance of this is fairly large as it proved once again that filmmakers were not done with coming up with new innovative ways of improving their films. It gave the opportunity for a more diverse range of shots compared to the original dolly system. Also, you didn't have to worry bout tracks getting in shots
