jan 23, 1750 BC - Hammurabi's Code was written.

Description:

Hammurabi's Code was so important because it was one of the first "fair" and consistent set of laws. Fair meaning that everyone knew the laws and the weren't made up by the leaders on the spot, but still these laws were harsh and not always fair to all people. If you were more powerful and wealthy you got different punishments than say slaves.
