Brazil wanted to declare independence from the Portuguese in 1802 because of the French Revolution, Napolean War, and wanting to start a new era. Joao Pedro, the prince of Portugal, ruled over Brazil at the time. He granted Brazil independence in 1822. This revolution was the only peaceful revolution.Added to timeline:
