Description:
The Jesuits arrived in New France to spread, and covert Natives to Christianity. Two Jesuits Charles Lalemant, Jean de Brébeuf were particularity famous. Both spent time learning the language, and culture of the Natives to try to convert them. However, on 16 March 1649 the Iroquois, captured Brébeuf and Gabriel Lalemant. They would both be tortured, and then killed by Iroqouis becoming some of the most famous Christian martyrs in history.
