jun 15, 1767 - Townshend Act

Description:

Once again struggling to pay off the war debt England enforced a series of indirect taxes on the colonies. These taxes were on regular goods, by doing this they felt that there would be no way for the colonists to get around them. Some examples of the items taxed were tea, glass, lead, and paint.
