feb 1, 1763 - The Treaty of Paris
Description:
The Treaty of Paris in February, 1763 was the peace treaty signed by the all the powers of the Seven years war. It brought an end to the war, and major territorial concessions were dealt. Spain gained French Louisiana, France kept Guadeloupe, and Britain took much of North America including Florida, Quebec, Cape Breton Island, and the Great Lakes. Frances concession was important as France gave up Quebec, and most of New France to England. This would lead to an English dominated North America, rather than the two co-existing.
