The Great Peace with the Iroquois in 1701 was a peace treaty/deal with the Five Nations of Iroquois. It was a deal to hostilities between the French, and Iroquois that lasted for almost over a century. In Montreal the treaty was concluded stating that the Iroquois would remain neutral in an Anglo-French conflict. This seriously undermined the British Colonies Covenant Chain which the British could use against the French. In short The Great Peace was a peace treaty with the Iroquois.
