jul 14, 1789 - The French Revolution Begins (Storming of the Bastille)
Description:
The Third Estate's demands began to make them worry the king would fight back against them. To prevent this, a group of men of the third estate attacked the Hotel des Invalides which held muskets, and then invaded the Bastille, which protected Paris and held the gunpowder they needed to prevent a war. When the leader of the Bastille refused to give them gunpowder, they all stormed in and attacked all soldiers, who eventually surrendered, leaving the revolutionaries in control of the Bastille.
