dec 6, 1957 - Cinematograph films act 1927
Description:
In 1927, British cinemas were required to show 7.5%-20% of British films. This was to keep a steady making of British films as if they were not shown at the cinemas, British filmmakers would not earn enough money to make more films. This act kept British films afloat. This act could possibly be the reason that there are a wide array of British films today.
Because of the cinematograph film act of 1927 brought quota quickies to screen. Quota quickies are low cost, low quality films to show the 7.5%-20% of British films.
