mar 11, 2011 - Large Earthquake Causes Large Japanese Tsunami
Description:
An earthquake with a magnitude of 9 caused a large tsunami to wash itself over Japan. 150,000 people who evacuated lost their homes and 50,000 people are still living in temporary housing. Although this earthquake is not the largest to ever occur, it is significant because scientists were unable to detect the damage and destruction that the tsunami would bring. The tsunami caused cooling systems in a Japanese nuclear power plant to fail causing radioactive material to leak out.
