Description:
Germanic tribes arrived in Britain. Three main tribes arrived in Britain, Angles,Saxon and Jutes. The common language in Britain at the time was a Celtic language. The Celtic speakers were pushed west and northward by the Germanic tribes. Angles and Saxons gave us the term Anglo-Saxons. The Angles brought with them the "Englisc" language or the more commonly known "Old English"
