jun 24, 1941 - Citizen Kane.

Description:

A story of the perils of the American dream, loosely based on the “gatsby” book, ‘Citizen Kane’ is a cinematic masterpiece and is often claimed to be one of the best films ever made. It’s narrative tells the tale of a publishing tycoons quest to find glory. Written by Orson Welles, actor, director and painter. His history in art gave his films an aesthetically beautiful look and incorporated this in his shots. He was awarded the highly honourable award, ‘The D.W. Griffiths award’. Consequently his reputation as a filmmaker climbed steadily ever since. The plot of ‘Citizen Kane’ embraced the time-distorted narrative and used lighting artistically to capture emotion and tonal shifts. Although Herman Mankiewicz was a writer of this film, like Orson Welles, he did not get equal credit for this masterpiece as most of the reason it was so good was the direction of it, which was in the hands of Orson Welles.
