Westworld the sci-fi action thriller was the first film to use CGI. This wasn’t the modern CGI most people are used to however, this is pixelated image CGI. This means it is low quality and 2- dimensional. Besides the fact that it was such low quality, it revolutionised the film industry and resulted in the major use of CGI in modern days. This later influenced 3D wireframe CGI, meaning pixelated image CGI is extremely important for the film industry. This began the rapid growth in quality of CGI in films and many others took inspiration from this and built upon the pixelated image CGI to eventually evolve into 3D wireframe CGI.
