The Tamogotchi was a digital pet that was especially popular among young girls. After activating the toy, the consumer would see a small egg appear on the screen, which would wiggle for a few minutes before hatching into an adorable pet. The main objective of the toy was to raise the pet by giving it constant attention and taking care of it's health and happiness. The Tamogotchi pets could be fed, played with, toilet trained, and even married off.
