Description:
This event showed how the real power during Marinid Dynasty was hold. The Wattasids technically were the vizies whom rotated the Marinid sultans, often still children, in quick succession to ensure a strong viziership. In 1472, they easily usurped the power in Fez and made Marrakesh as their capital. They claimed for a policy of coexistence with the Portuguese during their reign.
