may 17, 1954 - Brown v. board of education
Description:
This was a landmark victory for the civil rights movements here in the USA. This was also an uniramous supreme court ruling, which practically overturned the 1896 case of Plessy v. Ferguson ruling that separate but equal was the law. Segergrated schools were unconstitutional. The case was argued 12/9/1952, reargued a year later on 12/8/1953, and was decided and put into effect on this date.
