Description:
(1460?-1524)Born in southwestern Portugal, Vasco de Gama studied mathematics and navigation for most of his early life. During De Gama’s time, there was a war for the Spice’s in India and the Spice Islands, Many European countries wanted to find a quick route to trade with these countries, but most were controlled by Muslim traders which demanded high taxes. On his first voyage, he was unable to make good relations with the local ruler and was sent back to Portugal. On his second voyage, De Gama was tasked with improving the administration on a colony on Goa. He soon after fell sick and died in Cochin.
