jun 15, 1767 - The Townshend Acts

Description:

A series of 4 acts that passed so the British Parliament could exert authority over the colonies, which they believed was their right. They attempted to suspend assembly and implemented very strict provisions, which the colonies did not like (especially after the salutary neglect the British had been enforcing).
