oct 26, 1059 - THE DEATH OF ABDULLAH IBN YASIN

Description:

While Abdullah was struggling to bring the Berbers of northern Morocco into the fold. Abdullah ibn Yasin was killed in 1059 then he was succeeded by one of his general and commanders known as Abu Bakr ibn Umar who was a member of Lamtuna tribe and was very instrumental in the Almoravids expansion. Abu Bakr was a warrior to his core empire that he helped create. When he needs administration and bureaucracy to be grown, Abu Bakr decided to outsource his problem by placing his cousin Yusuf Ibn Tashfin who was renowned as being shrewd and intelligent and of course much better at politics an organization in charge of the developing government structure and then he went off to do what he loved best putting down revolts and being field commander leading men into battle. When Abu Bakr got back from one of his mission he discovered that Yusuf ibn Tashfin had basically taken over the rule. Yusuf ibn Tashfin was going to be the man to really bring the Almoravids into that realm of being a major player.
In my opinion, even after the death of Abdullah ibn Yasin the Almoravids are not stopping from growing successfully under the other chiefs. The Almoravids managed to become powerful dynasty during that time. Abu Bakr was a warrior in the military and war so it makes sense if he asked Yusuf ibn Tashfin to help him in the fields of administration, politic and bureaucracy,
