Skating superb in the short program, Elvis Stojko was in the lead strongly overtrain the pre-Olympic favourites. Throughout the long he popped his planned triple Axel combination. Knowing that this mistake was costly he spontaneously added it replacing a not so important jump. This decision honoured him with the silver medal at the 1994 Winter Olympics.Added to timeline:
