Musa was known for his loyalty as he served Ummayad Dynasty in Damascus. He was the advisor of Calpih Marwan al-Hakam. However, there was a resistance by the Jewish who was led by the Jawara tribe named, Al-Kahina which was a women. Kahina represented as a serious threat and opposition towards the Arab. However, her army managed to defeated the Arabs. Afterwards,the Arabs campaign in Tunisia and Kahina later was defeated near Gabes and killed in Algeria. Thus, Musa Ibn Nusayr, the head of Arab armies during that time continue the conquest and reached Tangier. There, he appointed Tariq Bin Ziyad ,a Berber and a freed slave as a governor of Tangier.
