Description:

This battle include the army of Arabs under Abd Zuhair Ibn Qais which was sent by Abd Malik Ibn Marwan , Berbers and the Romans under Kusaila. The aftermath however, the arab managed took over the city and the Roman imperial forces withdrew from all of Africa except Ceuta. Roman Carthage was destroyed as its walls torn down,water supply cut off, and its harbors made unusable. The destruction of Africa marked a permanent end to the Byzantine Empire's influence in the region. Be that as it may, the Arabs did not make Carthage their capital. This is due to its harbour which was too vulnerable to attack from the sea.
