This campaign was led by 'Amr ibn al-As. The Greeks surrendered over its rule to Cyrenaica. During this campaign was the period when the caliphs ordered the expansion of Islam to other parts of the world. This incuded Tripolitania which managed to be conquer by Muslim in 645.Source:
