jan 29, 1839 - Charles Darwin marriage with Emma Darwin Nee Wedgwood

Description:

These couples had ten children's. Darwin use the evidence from the Galapagos and elsewhere in the world, Darwin proposed that species were not unchanging. He thought that the environment was responsible for bringing about these changes. Finches with slightly thinner beaks that were able to eat insects would have had a better chance of surviving if there were not enough seeds for all of the birds.

These thin-beaked birds would reproduce and pass on the genes for thin beaks to their offspring. The offspring would also have thinner beaks and pass on their genes to the next generation.

Darwin’s big idea is the theory of natural selection. He maintained that species change over time and that the natural selection is how these changes occur. An example of this is the peppered moth.
